                         Vedas  

The word ‘Vedas originated from the root ‘vidi’, i.e. to know, signifying knowledge. It is also known as Shruti (to hear). There are four vedas - the Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda. 

                       Rigveda

 The Rigveda is the most established one, and hence, is otherwise called 'the primary confirmation of humankind'. It was more likely than not to be formed around 1700 B.C. The initial three Vedas are known as 'Trayi'. It has 1017 psalms (Sukta) and is separated into ten mandalas. After the expansion of the eleven Bal Khilya Sutra, the absolute no. of psalms get 1028. The 10th mandala, said to have been added later as its language varies from the other nine mandalas, contains the renowned Purushasukta clarifying the four varnas (Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya, and Shudra) brought into the world from the mouth, arms, thighs, and feet of the maker. Consequently, the Rigveda has 10 Mandalas, 1028 Suktas, and 10,580 Riches. Around 1200 Mantras have been taken from the Rigveda. The songs of Atharvaveda advise how to overcome the malevolent soul. Shank and Pippalad are the two accessible parts of this Veda. The Atharvaveda is otherwise called Brahmaveda or Atharvagirasveda.                         Yajurveda
